What does one do when one is bored out of their soul and overly inspired?

Write essays.

That's right. Hit me hard with anything you'd like to know. Neji's opinion on decaf tea, his underwear preference, why he reacts the way he does to that kind of action, his view on a certain relationship - anything. I'll be frank and let you know I am desperate to write for you, and my Neji muse is so active it's getting annoying.

Have at it. ♥ Entry will be open forever. 8D

Compensating. I want essays on:

Sakura. Tea.

I-I tried to make them short.

Ever since entering Gakuen, Neji and Sakura have probably interacted more than they did in the entirety of their original acquaintance. He finds her refreshingly challenging to talk to these days and cannot help but note their conversation lacks the awkward silences that he usually has with almost everybody at some point, being slightly socially stunted, and reallyonlyslightly. Their opinions clash rarely enough for him to accept she is now a lot more interesting than her former romance-fanatic, dare I call it dreamy, self would have been; and I do not want to imagine how he would have resented the unrealistic/idealistic attitude and waste of talent that was Sakura at twelve years old. Neji acknowledges she has been trained to grow up into one of the most respectable kunoichi and somewhat considers her an equal in intellect and talent. Which is, considering his ego, almost half a love confession.

Tea is the guilty pleasure I gave Neji as a personal note, and, if I may say so myself, it suits him as well as that posh manskirt of his. Not so subliminal self-praise, whoo. It basically is his reaction to most occasions, especially the stressy ones, but also as a pure luxury he allows himself to indulge in. While you don't necessarily consider him a relaxed person, he is still quite capable of enjoying himself in his own way. There is nothing better for him than an hour of undisturbed meditation, a good book afterwards, and lots and lots of tea. Hardly a flavor or type would be scorned, although he has his distinct favorites. And usually, the people offering to drink a cup with him are also the ones he is most likely to socialize best with.

Good try. ♥

I doubt even Sakura looks back on her former self well. It was a phase she went through, and she's surpassed it. If Neji actually says all those things, she'll probably expect a wedding ring to boot. xD ♥!

Tea, and aspirin too, right? Totally understandable, Neji. Totally.

Which is why he doesn't. Why waste money on weddings when it could be spent on tea?

He'd much rather choose tea over aspirin, though it has proven to be useful. But the frequency of him using it is sad, he knows.

Omg, inquiring minds want to know what Neji thinks of Hidan.

...and moisturizer. XD

It's a thing of exquisite denial, Neji's opinion of Hidan. Behind his mostly withdrawn and aloof input in their conversations is an allure that keeps him from completely ignoring the missing nin. After their first encounter he has come to realize quite quickly that some gear wheel or another in his clockwork is either broken, nonexistant or running backwards, and his own proclivities to analyze a person's behavior and attitude have kept him intrigued from the start. By now, Neji knows there are a handful of primal interests they have in common; the first being the desire to dedicate their full life and strength to one belief. In Hidan's case, it's clearly his religion, and while Neji might not be completely pagan, it is the will to change his own destiny instead of bemoaning it. Today, post!Naruto-bitchslap of enlightenment, Neji cannot anymore imagine not taking action in a matter as crucial as the rest of one's life, or one's afterlife. There is more respect he upholds for Hidan's strong faith than he will ever show. Theoretically. He does not approve of the particularly extreme killing rate in Jashinism, but will not bring it up, because choosing his belief is entirely Hidan's thing, and the only incentive to take action against it would be if it were threatening Neji's allies. Shikamaru excluded, that's an entirely different matter in itself.

There also appear to be common grounds in their refusal to fully let go of their childhood, or, more specifically, the person closest to them during. In Hidan's case, it is quite clearly his mother, while Neji's father remains a sore spot for him.
Considering Hidan is notoriously a nutcase, Neji is not too inclined towards openly showing how well he, supposedly sane, is able to relate to him, and still interested in learning more about his personality. Temptation usually gets the better of people, however, and Neji is far from being an exception when there is no actual harm done by giving into it.

The End. I forcefully had to stop myself from going on, fyi. D:"

He considers moisturizer useful, and a necessity. His metrosexuality-in-denial focuses mostly on his hair, as his skin isn't dry or any other kind of problematic; but he knows age quickly gets the better of one's looks, especially when the person in question frowns as frequently as Neji does. XD

Wow. *_____* That was great. I love the similarities and little nuances you brought up. You're really good at this essay thing, honestly. Looking at this, no one would believe English isn't your native language. *is impressed*

And LOL @ his view on moisturizer. Necessity, oh yes. >D Hehehe.

Thanks for doing this!

Lee wants everything, Lee gets everything. Oh, gosh, wheredoIstart.

Lee, firstly and foremostly, has always been and will always be Neji's rival. While quite obviously, it was a completely one-sided relationship for the first years, he has grown to accept challenges, if not even feel slightly tickled by some of them. It is undeniable the years at Team Gai, especially around Lee, have turned Neji slightly more responsive and enthusiastic about challenges, although most of the time he will not show much of it. When it comes down to proving himself, it is something he will always gladly do, and not only deign to do like he did as a genin, with the mere reason that it is what people expect of him for being a genius.

Lee can actually be partially blamed for the rapidity of Neji's change in attitude after his match with Naruto, and Neji would not be taking that credit from him if he were asked about it. Especially at his most confused, and in the middle of a 180° turn of attitude, Neji has been very curious about his team mate, and concerned for what he would be doing with his arm and leg in a cast. If Lee had chosen to not take the surgery and give up his dream, I am not entirely sure Neji would have been as confident about his own goals, because he has yet to meet a person with a stronger will than Lee's, although there are a few who rank close enough to him. Not only due to that did he quietly offer his help when it came to having his practically crippled team mate climb stairs, because quite obviously, it is not a rival thing to do; seeing one weaker than the other might be the point of some rivalries, but this one might have gone past just that, and it feels unfair to Neji to make it worse even if he might not have. I imagine during Lee's stay at the hospital and before his surgery, Neji did not officially visit him often enough to be called occasionally, but might have hung around before his door more often than not. While that's being speculative on my part, I can see it happening.

So he did support Lee when he was ailing, and it's obvious there's quite a handful of reasons for that. The other quite crucial one is, in fact, guilt, which he is unlikely to ever admit to. If he had to be entirely honest, Neji would openly sport his neverending bemusement at the fact that Lee does not hate his guts with a firey passion for all the months, years, of faterants and superiority complexes, or beating and disrespect in regards to Lee's nindou. Lee will probably never know just how grateful Neji is to be given this second chance, because he is certain that if it had been him, he would not have been capable of forgiving all that. He'll never stop feeling guilty, although it has numbed down over the years. Perhaps, one day, he will find the strength to ignore his pride for just long enough to tell Lee and openly thank him. But then again, he might never.

Neji respects Lee about as much as he respects Naruto. While Naruto is the one who literally smacked sense into Neji, it did not take long for him to realize that it might as well have been Lee, a few years later, maybe, because Neji failed to detect Lee's ability, and his own views blocked Neji from acquiring even more strength. Witnessing Lee's strength in his fight with Gaara already took Neji by great surprise. If Lee were to grow even stronger without Neji noticing, he could have eventually kicked him off of his high horse. However, Naruto beat him to it.
More than for that fact he respects Lee for his strong will and never, really never giving up, his forgiveness, kindness, the love he opely shares without expecting a thing in return, and his accomplishments. He doesn't know when exactly he has started to think this way, but Neji has been considering Lee an equal for a great while, albeit entirely silently so.

It might be a risky thing to state this bluntly, but in certain aspects, Neji might even be looking up to him. That, however, is something he will definitely never mention a word of.

SHORT ANSWER: NEITHER

That said, there's the factor of heartbreak on the SasuSaku side. He has hurt her before. In turn for that, though, he used to be a Konoha shinobi, and hasn't committed any major crimes other than leaving the village behind and joining a traitor (Oh, and punching a hole in Uzumaki Naruto). If Sasuke ever were to return or be dragged home, Neji reckons that in no way would Naruto tolerate him getting locked up in prison, and in one complicated or another simple way, Sasuke might be pardoned. Deidara, though, whacked the Kazekage, and that + Suna-Konoha alliance = council does not like. Falling for a missing nin is just not a laudably smart idea. But trying to change anything about it would be foolish, now that it's happened.

BACK IN THEIR WORLD?
Both might make her very unhappy, Deidara slightly more because he is more likely to be forced apart from her.

IN GAKUEN?
... He goes with the standard "whichever makes her happy". Morals, he has realized, are long since to be ignored in this place, most of the time. And he can see, here, that at least nobody could pull them apart (but the Principal to send either home). With either, Neji guesses, there can be lots of more or less abusive love with kinkpunches and some drama.

IN CONCLUSION:
Lots of words, no real answer. Have one perfectly cryptic Hyuuga reasoning. o/

That.. was hardly a good one I think. o/ I'm more proud of the HidanNeji essay up there. Thiiis was just.. a rant-esque attempt at wit from Neji's POV.

Oh, and about the 'someone else entirely' part. Lee would have done her good, objectively viewed. Better than any milk. Too late now, though. Far too late. ♥

Well I still enjoyed it. <33

Lee is certainly the nicest possible guy Sakura could ever be paired with. He'd be very "safe"--he'd die before he'd do anything to hurt her, and would probably treat her like a queen. But yes, definitely too late.
